🔗 Share this article Vinted Users Express Displeasure About Size Changes Shoppers are voicing their frustration after an update resulted in products showing incorrect sizing. The second-hand shopping app has updated its measurement guidelines for female and kids' apparel but did not contact all users about the change. Digital Channels Backlash Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed as a result of the reclassification. Vinted explained the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces. They have suggested members to examine their items and manually change the size when needed, which has left users frustrated. Sizing System Updates Previously, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The revised method features an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L was formerly size 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. User Accounts Frankie Bridger, who creates plus-size fashion videos, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," as the platform currently indicates. Another user, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded with size 14 tags were appearing on the platform as size 20–22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they're going to be very disappointed," she said. Manual Updates Charlotte Lunn, located in England, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the measurements for "each individual item". "This situation is especially annoying, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated. Service Background The service features exceeding 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members. It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: last year, Vinted reversed a change to its shipping options due to shopper criticism.
